You can collect customers’ email addresses in two places in your quiz: on a separate Optin Page before their results, or through an optional sign-up on the Results Page.
Choose where to collect emails
Before results: Add an Optin Page to ask for an email before showing recommendations. Customers can skip this step unless you make email collection compulsory.
After results: Add an optional sign-up to the Results Page so customers can see their recommendations first. They can ignore the form and still shop their results.
You can use either option or both. If a customer has already provided their email or phone number earlier in the quiz, the Results Page sign-up is not shown.
Collect emails before results: the Optin Page
To start, click the +Add Page button from the left-hand side menu (underneath the questions), then select Optin Page.
Customise the text
Change the headline and subheadline to suit your brand and quiz. For example, a pet food quiz could invite customers to receive recommendations personalised to their pet’s needs.
Make email collection optional or required
By default, customers can skip this step by clicking No thanks underneath the Submit & get results button.
To require an email before showing results, hide the No thanks link under Show Page Elements. Making email collection compulsory may affect how many customers complete your quiz.
General Design Settings
Under General Design, you will find some general width settings to make sure your Optin Page looks good on both Desktop and Mobile. By default you can see the drop down menu under Top Section Width and Bottom Section Width with the Full Width options but you can choose the custom width option and adjust it in pixels.
Furthermore you can also customize the Headline and Sub-headline design with the option to adjust it’s alignment and font size for better readability.
Button Design Settings
This section offers a lot more customization related to what you want to show as text for the button on the Optin Page and what colors to use for both the background color of the button and the text.
You can also customize the look in terms of the font size, padding, or border radius of the button to make this page as engaging as possible for your customers. All options can be customized separately for Desktop and Mobile.
Collect emails after results: Results Page sign-up
Let customers see their recommendations first, then leave their email through an optional form. They can skip the form and still shop their results.
Turn on the sign-up
Open your quiz in the Quiz Builder.
Select Results Page in the left-hand menu.
Open Email Sign-up in the right-hand menu.
Check Show an email sign-up on the Results page.
The form appears below the results. To move it, open Page Layout and drag Email sign-up to the position you want.
The sign-up also works when your Results Page hides default product recommendations and uses only content blocks.
Customise the text
The Email Sign-up menu includes four text fields. Leave a field empty to use its default:
Headline: Want your results by email?
Subheadline: Leave your email and we'll send you your recommendations.
Button text: Send me my results
Message after sign-up: Thanks! Check your inbox.
If your wording promises an email, make sure your connected email tool is configured to send one. Enabling the form alone does not set up that email.
After signing up, customers see your message in place of the form. The button uses your quiz theme’s button style.
When the form is hidden
The sign-up is not shown when:
The customer already provided their email or phone number earlier in the quiz.
Someone opens a saved or shared Results Page link, preventing them from adding an email to another customer’s results.
Publish your quiz when you’re ready for the changes to go live.
Collect names and marketing consent
The Results Page sign-up uses the name-field and consent settings configured on your Optin Page.
Collect customer names
In the Optin Page settings, First name and Last name each have three options:
Hide
Show (required)
Show (optional)
When both fields are shown, the last name appears below the first name. These settings also apply to the Results Page sign-up.
Add a marketing consent checkbox
Use the GDPR checkbox to ask customers for marketing consent and link to your privacy policy. You can configure its position above or below the button and make it required or optional.
Customise the checkbox text to explain what customers are agreeing to. To make part of the text a link, place it between and tags. For example:
I agree to receive marketing emails and have read the Privacy Policy.
Enter your privacy policy’s URL in the GDPR link field.
These consent settings also apply to the Results Page sign-up. For details, see Privacy Policy and GDPR Checkbox.
Collect phone numbers on the Optin Page
You can also collect phone numbers on the Optin Page. The phone field includes a country selector, and you can make it required, optional or hidden.
For more details on setting it up and using it with your email and SMS marketing integrations, refer to this article.
Send collected details to integrations
Email addresses collected through either method are sent to your connected email and marketing integrations, along with the customer’s name, consent and quiz answers where supported.
The customer’s contact is created or updated with their quiz answers.
If you've connected Klaviyo, Omnisend, Brevo or ActiveCampaign on the Lantern Integrations page, open Optin Page → Integration Settings and select the email and SMS subscription options that match how you intend to use the collected details. This section only shows once one of these tools is connected, and its heading names only the tools you've connected.
If your quiz is configured to create customers in Shopify, a customer is created when they sign up. See Adding Customers to Shopify Using Lantern Quiz for details.
How Results Page sign-up affects integration
Some integrations send data as soon as the quiz is completed, before the customer can sign up on the Results Page. These do not receive the email collected afterwards: webhooks, Zapier, Shopify Flow, Google Sheets, Slack notifications and the Meta Conversions API.
If one of these needs the customer’s email, collect it on the Optin Page before results instead.
For Klaviyo, Omnisend and Brevo, signing up on the Results Page also sends the quiz completion event with recommended products. Any flow triggered by that event starts when the customer signs up.
If you offer to email customers their results, configure the corresponding email or flow in your connected marketing tool.
For integration-specific setup and subscription behaviour, see the relevant integration guide. For Klaviyo consent settings, see Marketing Consent and Klaviyo Integration.
Translate the Results Page sign-up
Translate the default sign-up text in the Translations tab, under Results page. For instructions, see Change the language or the wording of your quiz.
Set up the sign-up with Lantern MCP
If you’ve connected Lantern to Claude or ChatGPT using Lantern MCP, you can ask your assistant to enable the Results Page sign-up, change its position and customise its headline, subheadline, button text and message after sign-up.
