Adding an e-mail capture page is the perfect opportunity for you to collect your customer’s email address for further campaigns in which you can share information about your brand, products and offers.

To start, click the +Add Page button from the left-hand side menu (underneath the questions), then select Optin Page.

On this page, you can configure the default text to suit your brand and address your quiz takers with something relevant to the quiz. In this example we are using a quiz that offers food recommendations for your pet personalized to their needs or sensitivities.

While capturing emails is a great opportunity to grow your business, your customers always have the option to skip this step by clicking on No thanks underneath the Submit & get results button. You can completely remove the No thanks link, making emails compulsory to see the results. Note making it compulsory could impact your quiz completion rates and, finally, sales generated through the quiz.

You can also capture customer names in addition to email addresses, and you have the option of making this compulsory or not. If you've set up the integrations, the customer name and email data will automatically get sent to Klaviyo and/or Mailchimp.

GDPR Set-up and Customizations

Lantern allows you to enhance your data compliance practices with our GDPR Checkbox feature directly on this page. This optional feature provides a checkbox for customers to give their explicit consent for data collection, simultaneously offering them a link to your privacy policy. This can make the process easier for customers since giving their consent here would allow you to sync their data in a Klaviyo list for example without the need for a double optin again.

You can customize the text for the GDPR checkbox to better represent your customer data usage and Privacy Policy. If you want to include a link to more documentation or your Privacy Policy page you can write the text you want to become a link between the tags like you can see below for the Privacy Policy part of the text. Under the GDPR text you can paste the GDPR link representing the URL destination of the text you connected a link above.

General Design Settings

Under General Design, you will find some general width settings to make sure your Optin Page looks good on both Desktop and Mobile. By default you can see the drop down menu under Top Section Width and Bottom Section Width with the Full Width options but you can choose the custom width option and adjust it in pixels.

Furthermore you can also customize the Headline and Sub-headline design with the option to adjust it’s alignment and font size for better readability.

Button Design Settings

This section offers a lot more customization related to what you want to show as text for the button on the Optin Page and what colors to use for both the background color of the button and the text.

You can also customize the look in terms of the font size, padding, or border radius of the button to make this page as engaging as possible for your customers. All options can be customized separately for Desktop and Mobile.

Phone Number Input

You also have the option to collect phone numbers on the opt-in page, allowing for SMS marketing alongside email capture. The phone input includes a country selector for proper formatting, and you can customize whether it’s required, optional, or hidden. For more details on setting it up and integrating with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and Zapier, refer to this article.

For Klaviyo Integration Settings you need to make sure that under Integration Settings you have selected the relevant uses for your data gathering be it e-mail or phone numbers. Note that your customers still need to either check a GDPR box agreement or approve a double optin flow from Klaviyo in order to have permission for marketing or similar campaigns in which their phone number or e-mail is being used. By default we recommend having all of the options checked under Integration Settings for Klaviyo and use the GDPR checkbox if that applies to your business or a double option list if not.
