Lantern event stats

Written by Wendy

Event Stats shows how customers interact with your quizzes over time. You can track how often specific events happen, such as page loads, answer submissions and quiz completions, and see how this activity changes over time.

Please note: Lantern’s Google Analytics integration and Advanced Analytics events respect your customers’ analytics cookie consent through Shopify’s Customer Privacy API. If analytics cookies are declined, these events are not tracked. Learn more in How Lantern Handles Cookie Consent.

Navigating to Event Stats

Log in to your Lantern dashboard and open Advanced Analytics from the left-hand menu.

Under Lantern Events, click Explore Events. You'll find the Event Stats panel in the top left corner.

Understanding the Event Stats Interface

Use the Event Stats panel to choose what data you want to view:

  • Select a quiz and event: Choose the quiz you want to analyze, then select an event such as a page load, answer submission or quiz completion.

  • Choose a time frame: View your data by day, week or month.

  • View the graph: The graph shows how often the selected event happened during that period. Hover over any point to see the exact number for that date or time.

For example, we selected the "Find your perfect pet food - LIVE" quiz and the Page Load event. The graph shows how many times the welcome page was loaded each day. We can use this to identify busy periods and compare them with activity such as marketing campaigns or social media traffic.

Using Event Stats to Improve Your Quiz

Event Stats can help you understand where customers are engaging with or dropping out of your quiz. Compare events such as quiz starts, answer submissions and completions to identify patterns and areas that may need improvement.

You can then use this information to test changes to your quiz and track whether they improve engagement and completion rates.
