Transition pages serve as the bridge between different sections of your quiz or from the Welcome Page to the first question. They are valuable tools that can boost user engagement, guide participants through the quiz, and even increase the completion rate.

Transition pages can serve different purposes such as:

  • Break up the quiz into manageable sections.

  • Offer information or tips before introducing more complex questions.

  • Set expectations or provide context for the following sections.

  • Increase suspense or engagement with cliffhangers or teasers.

Here is an example of a ‘what to expect’ transition page that links our welcome page to the first question in the quiz.

To add a transition page, from the Quiz Builder click Add Page and select Transition Screen.

Construction and content

On the resulting Transition Screen, you can add an optional headline and subheadline, the actual information you want to share with your customers, but also upload media such as an image, video or GIF.

As with any element of the quiz where you can add media, this section provides a link to Unsplash, but you also have the option to upload your own. You can also adjust the image height and width by providing size specifications in pixels.

As this is an existing quiz, the Transition Screen is positioned at the bottom as it was the very last element to be added, but it can easily be moved and arranged to your desired position using drag and drop.

Transition Settings

Under Transition Settings, you can adjust the number of seconds after which you want this page to transition to the next one. You also have the option to input values for a custom size adjustment of the image included in the transition screen template.

General Design Settings

Under General Design, you will find some general width settings to make sure your Transition Screen looks good on both Desktop and Mobile. By default you can see the drop down menu under Top Section Width and Bottom Section Width with the Full Width options but you can choose the custom width option and adjust it in pixels.

Furthermore you can also customize the Headline and Sub-headline design with the option to adjust it’s alignment and font size for better readability.

Button Design Settings

This section offers a lot more customization related to what you want to show as text for the button on the Transition Screen and what colors to use for both the background color of the button and the text.

You can also customize the look in terms of the font size, padding, or border radius of the button to make this page as engaging as possible for your customers. All options can be customized separately for Desktop and Mobile.

Skip/Show Conditions

Lastly on this page you get the option to adjust if you want to show or skip this page based on certain conditions such as, if certain answers were selected in the quiz so far this may be a suitable question to show or skip.

Remember, transition pages are more than just fillers in a quiz. They have the potential to enhance the quiz experience and drive engagement when done right. Use them as opportunities to communicate, engage, and guide your users through the quiz journey.

Transition pages include a Skip/Show condition as well meaning you can customize to show or skip this page based on specific answers your customers have selected. Please check our help article on how to use Skip/Show Conditions.
