The Monster Cart Drawer integration lets customers add products from your quiz in a side cart, without leaving the results page.
How cart drawers work with quizzes
Cart drawers (also called AJAX carts or side carts) only work inside your store.
This means they will only open correctly when the quiz is:
Embedded in your store as a section on a page using the app block key
Opened in a pop up using the pop-up URL
If the quiz is opened as a standalone link or being previewed, it is no longer inside your store, so the cart drawer cannot open directly.
Before you start
Make sure:
Monster Cart Drawer is installed and working
Monster Cart app embed is enabled in your theme
Enable Lantern Core
Lantern Core must be enabled for cart functionality to work correctly.
To enable it:
Go to Online Store → Themes in Shopify
Click Customize on your live theme
Open App embeds
Turn on Lantern Core
Save your changes
This allows Lantern to communicate with your store’s cart and trigger the cart drawer.
Enable Monster Cart Drawer in your quiz
Open your quiz
Go to the Results Page
Open Reviews, Cart, Subscriptions
Select Monster Cart Drawer
Republish the quiz
Recommended settings
Use the following settings:
Do not open cart page: OFF
Open cart page in new tab: ON
These settings ensure the best experience in all cases:
If the quiz is inside your store( as a pop-up, embedded or on the dedicated in-store page), the cart drawer opens automatically
If the quiz is in Preview mode or opened as a standalone link when customers add to cart, a new tab opens in your store on the product listing page and triggers the cart drawer there
This fallback is needed because cart drawers cannot open outside your store.
Common issue
If nothing happens after clicking “Add to cart”, check that:
“Do not open cart page” is turned off
The quiz is being opened outside your store without a fallback
