With Lantern, you can map specific product variants (e.g., size, color, shade) directly in your quiz so results point to the exact item a customer needs. This is ideal for foundation shade matching, mattress size recommenders, apparel sizing, and similar use cases where you need to present a precise, personalized recommendation.

To start adding product variants for each answer click Match Variants. This will open up a list of all the products with variants in your store.

You can filter products by title using the search bar, or use Add filter (e.g., Categories, Collections, Types, Tags, Vendors). Alternatively, type tag:xyz in the search bar—replacing xyz with the actual product tag—to filter by tags.

In the Select products popup, it shows 2 options to filter products: the search bar is used to filter by tag, containing the text tag:dog food or to use Add filter (e.g., Categories, Collections, Types, Tags, Vendors)

When linking products with variants, an additional drop-down menu will be displayed on the results page underneath the product title that allows customers to select a variant to add to cart.

Please note that product variant drop-downs will show all the variants in the order they are found on the product’s listing page.

The variant picker drop-down will be limited to a maximum of 30 variants. If the product has more than 30 variants, the Add to cart button will be replaced with a ‘Choose option’ button and the customer will need to be redirected to the product page to make their selection before they can check out.
