Lantern gives you several ways to create a quiz, depending on how quickly you want to get started and how much help you need with the initial setup.
For most stores, we recommend starting with ChatGPT or Claude connected to Lantern through MCP. You can also generate a starting quiz with Lantern’s built-in AI, adapt one of our templates, or have our team build a fully customized quiz for you.

Create your quiz with ChatGPT or Claude
For most merchants, we recommend starting with ChatGPT or Claude connected to Lantern through MCP.
Instead of building everything manually, you can describe the quiz you want in plain language and let your AI assistant create and update it directly in Lantern.
For example, you can ask:
“Create a product recommendation quiz with five questions and an email capture page before the results.”
You can then continue the conversation to refine the quiz.

Use Lantern’s built-in AI
Lantern also has a built-in AI quiz generator that you can use directly inside the app.
This is a good option if:
You want to create a starting quiz quickly
You're new to product recommendation quizzes
You don't have a complete quiz structure planned yet
Your products have relatively simple recommendation logic

Once your starting quiz has been generated, you can continue customizing it in Lantern or use ChatGPT or Claude to help refine the content, design, logic, and recommendations.

Start with a template
Lantern also offers pre-built templates that you can use as a starting point for your quiz.
Templates are pre-built quizzes with:
Existing layouts
Pre-styled designs
Example questions and answers
Custom CSS and HTML
You don't need to use a template only for the industry it was originally designed for. If you like its layout or design, you can adapt it to your own products and quiz type.
For example, a wine recommendation template could be turned into a coffee, skincare, supplements, or gift finder quiz.
With Lantern connected to ChatGPT or Claude, you can ask your AI assistant to help adapt the template by changing the questions, content, product recommendations, design, and other quiz settings to suit your store.
If you prefer to make changes manually, you can do that as well. However, manually editing parts of a template that use custom CSS or HTML may require familiarity with CSS and HTML.
